The locations section will allow you to quickly view all the sites your company manages. This article will give a brief overview of the typical contents of the section. We can either maintain your locations through a services agreement or you can manage your own locations. To get started by uploading locations on your own, view this article.
Types
The types area is broken out into 3 sections.
All Locations will turn on your locations regardless of any associated type.
If your data is broken out into types, you can turn on the individual types separately.
Life Cycle locations are designed to help you track each location's growth from potential through its grand opening.
Select the checkbox next to the layer to visually see it on the map.
Creating a New Life Cycle
At the bottom of the locations menu, select the " + Add New Life Cycle " button. Then, enter a name and select a map icon you'd like to represent that life cycle. This will allow you to add new life cycles to that particular type.
Adding a new site or life cycle through SCOUT
This feature must be enabled first by our team. To add additional sites through our services agreement please send the data to us by coordinating with your account manager. We are able to automate feeds to make this process completely hands off going forward. If you do wish to maintain your own data, this process is outlined below.
Once you find your location of interest, right click on the map and select the add option specific to your portal. This will commonly include add store/facility/site/property.
Next, fill in the required fields to add a new life cycle location. The required fields are:
name, future location type, and current life cycle stage.
You will see a yellow icon on the map showing where the site will be going. When you click "Add" at the bottom and it will be added as a new potential site and you will have an opportunity to input any comments, though it is not required.
Once your location progresses to its next stage, you can right click to edit the location and update the status. In this example we will update it to an open site.
Now you are taken back to your original menu. But when choosing the life cycle you will want to select "Life Cycle Completed". You will also be required to give your site an open date. Click "save" and any changes will be completed.
If you are adding a site that has already opened you will not be required to put in a Life Cycle Stage, but will still be required to give your site an Open Date.
*Notice this is also where you can go to delete a life cycle site.
**To minimize the risk of deleting an open site by mistake you must first change any open site into a life cycle stage and then the delete option will appear.
You can relocate a site by doing a long left click. Once the site begins to jump you can click and drag it on the map to a new area.
