Overview

SCOUT is part of the Buxton Analytics Platform and provides tools for exploring markets, visualizing data, analyzing locations, and accessing insights to support your decision-making.

If you're new to SCOUT, start with the introductory video below for an overview of the platform and its core functionality.

As you explore SCOUT, you'll also find built-in resources that provide additional information about features, data, and tools directly within the platform.

Get Help in SCOUT

SCOUT includes contextual help throughout the platform so you can learn more about features and data without leaving your workflow. Depending on where you are in the platform, you may see Tool Tip or Information icons that provide additional guidance.

Use Tool Tips

A Tool Tip icon appears next to many data layers and interface elements in SCOUT.

Select the icon to learn more about the corresponding feature, layer, or data point. For example, selecting the Tool Tip for a Neighborhood Center displays additional information explaining what qualifies as a Neighborhood Center.

Depending on the available resources, the Tool Tip may also provide options to:

  • Select Learn More to open a related Knowledge Base article.

  • Select Get Help to access live chat for additional assistance.

Tool Tips can also provide direct links to relevant Knowledge Base resources, making it easier to find more detailed information about the feature you're currently using.

Use Information Icons

You may also see a green Information icon throughout SCOUT.

Select this icon to access additional information about the corresponding feature. Depending on the feature, the available resources may include additional guidance or interactive product tours.
