Turning on an Active Item

Active items are turned on when you add anything to the map.

Hiding/Showing an Active Item

Each active item can be hidden from the map by selecting the “eye” icon.

More Settings for Active Items

Active items can have additional settings to make adjustments on the map.  Settings can range from adding a map label to adjusting the color of a geography.  Settings differ based on the map item.

Many point based layers will include additional options such as adding a label.

Your customer/visitor/patient dot colors are randomized when you toggle them on. Select more options to view or adjust visualization colors.

Many geographies in SCOUT will allow you to update the color as well, in addition to the opacity. While a geography color can be selected, the border boundary color cannot be changed independently from the geography color itself. You will even find some geographies will allow additional options like adding labels.

For thematics shown on the map, you can update color schemes and opacity. You can also update the value range that will help dictate how the layer is shown on the map.

Additional options that may come up with layer specific options. For instance, our ruler tool has many options to display and manipulate the data.

Clearing Map Items / Undo Removals

All active items can be removed by selecting “Clear All” in the panel header. If you accidentally remove a layer you can help also "Undo" that action for up to 10 layers.

Re-order Items

If you have multiple layers on, you can easily re-order them by clicking on an item and dragging it above or below another layer to move that layer forward.
