Multi-factor authentication is used to better secure your data. You will need to setup this feature through one of our three methods offered. These security features offer you even more control and security over your sensitive data within your analytic platform experience.

These options will show as available on your account when you first sign in to your account. Click on "setup" on either option to complete the setup of either (or all) options. Our recommendation would be to complete all methods. You can choose a specific one each time you log in depending on your situation. While the Okta Verify app may take longer to initially setup, we've found it makes the process more seamless for each subsequent log ins.

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication

Okta Verify App

We currently use Okta for our log in security. You can choose to download the Okta Verify App from a smartphone to verify your account. When you choose a device types you will be prompted to download their app and scan a bar-code from your phone to complete the setup.

SMS Authentication

You can choose to receive a text message to your phone to verify your account with this option. Once you enter your phone number, click "Send Code".

Email Authentication

You can choose to receive an email to verify your account with this option. Once you click the option, this will simply send you a code to the email setup on your account to verify. The email will originate from buxtonhelp@buxtonco.com. This is also our helpdesk email.

Add an additional method of authentication

If you previously setup a method and wanted to add additional methods for authentication (recommended) you can take these steps to add in additional options. We will require at least 1 option is active.

  1. Navigate to id.buxtonco.com

  2. Select your name at the top right and select "settings"

From this menu, you can update your password, change your forgotten password question, and add in an additional verification method under the Extra Verification section. This will take you to the above menu to setup the additional method.

Login with Multi-Factor Authentication

  1. Enter username and password, and click 'Sign In'

  2. If you have multiple multi-factor authentications setup, choose an option. Your last used option will be the default. If you only setup one option - you will automatically be directed to that option.

Okta Verify App

You can simply "Send Push" from your phone and you will automatically be logged in. You can also choose to enter the code that refreshes on your app.

SMS Authentication

You can confirm the last 4 digits of your phone number are correct here. You will need to physically click "Send Code" to receive a text message to that phone. When you open this message on your phone, you can enter your code and click "Verify" to log into the platform.

Email Authentication

You can confirm the partial email here. You will need to physically click "Send Code" to receive a text message to that phone. When you open this message on your email, you can enter your code and click "Verify" to log into the platform.
