Overview
The My Market analysis tool allows you to explore your organization's data within a specific geography. Use My Market to quickly identify where your locations, territories, pushpins, and saved businesses are located and view the number of each within the selected area.
My Market can be used with a geography displayed on the SCOUT map, allowing you to focus your analysis on a specific market, trade area, or other area of interest.
Access My Market
Before opening My Market, make sure the geography you want to analyze is displayed on the map.
Right-click the applicable geography and select My Market. SCOUT will analyze the selected area and display the available data organized by category.
Locations
The Locations section displays your location data within the selected geography. Locations are organized by type so you can see which locations fall within the area and understand how they are distributed across the market.
Use this section when you need to identify or count your organization's locations within a specific geography.
Territories
The Territories section displays territory data that intersects the selected geography. Territories are separated by type to help you identify which territories overlap with the area you're analyzing.
The territories available in My Market are also affected by the Collaborate setting in the left navigation menu. Turn Collaborate on to view territories available across your organization. Leave Collaborate off to limit the results to territories associated with your user account.
Pushpins
The Pushpins section displays pushpin data within the selected geography, organized by type. This allows you to identify and count saved points of interest or other locations represented by your pushpin layers within the market.
Like Territories, the Pushpins displayed in My Market are affected by the Collaborate setting. Turn Collaborate on to view pushpins available across your organization, or leave it off to view only the pushpins associated with your user account.
Saved Businesses
The Saved Businesses section displays businesses you have previously saved that are located within the selected geography. Results are organized by type, allowing you to see which saved businesses are present and how many fall within the area you're analyzing.
Use this section to review businesses you are already tracking within a particular market or trade area.
Using My Market for Your Analysis
My Market provides a quick way to understand the data associated with a particular geography without reviewing each layer individually. By comparing the available Locations, Territories, Pushpins, and Saved Businesses, you can better understand what is present within a market and use those results to support additional analysis in SCOUT.
Keep the Collaborate setting in mind when reviewing Territories and Pushpins. Changing this setting can affect which records appear in your results.
