The areas of interest section allows access to menus containing point objects, geography based objects, or uploaded thematics of interest. This section is helpful for storing miscellaneous map layers for data that just don't line up with the other groupings along the left hand menu. Learn how to upload data as points/geographies as well as thematics. Once you have data within this section, this is how you can access it.
Points
Access point based layers loaded into SCOUT. The "Global" folder is always present by default. Anything housed under the global folder will be viewable to your user base, within your specific portal. Any piece of data placed outside of the global folder in its own folder is only view-able to only the specific user who uploaded the data.
You can edit the layer by selecting the gear wheel made visible by hovering over a layer. Options to update the name of the layer, the icon itself, the color of the icon, and border size are available.
Geographies
Access geography (Spatial) objects loaded into SCOUT. The "Global" folder is always present by default as anything in the global folder is available to view by anyone within your company. Any piece of data placed outside of the global folder in its own folder is only view-able to the specific user who uploaded the data.
Update the icons by selecting the gear wheel made visible by hovering over a layer. Options to update the name of the layer along with the default color of the geographies are available. Modify colors by using the slider or clicking into the square and choosing a specific color from the color picker.
Custom Thematics
This is where you will find any custom-made thematics for your company that have been uploaded to SCOUT. To view thematics uploaded by other users within your organization be sure to toggle the collaborate option from "OFF" to "ON". Update the defaults by selecting edit within the gear wheel or making your layer a favorite. Additional options include updating the name of the layer, placing the layer into a group, updating the default mode, or deleting the layer.
Toggle between the type view and group view at the top to help organize the thematic layers as more are added.
