The Healthcare Data Package consists of projected demand insights for payor mix, outpatient and inpatient utilization as well as provider and facility data. This data is available in SCOUT via thematic visualization and reporting and is utilized in healthcare site selection models.

Demand Insights

The demand insights are built on the foundation of actual claims and modeled out to represent the full population by ZCTA or ZIP. Results are available for current year and a five-year projection.

  • Covered Lives by Payor Type: Provides insight into the population of a geography, estimating the number of lives by payor type.

  • Inpatient Discharges: Estimated utilization of inpatient care by diagnosis-related group (DRG) and sorted by major diagnostic category (MDC).

  • Outpatient Visits: Forecasts provider visits by specialty or facility type, based on evaluation and management (E&M) codes.

  • Outpatient Procedures: Forecasts outpatient procedures by specialty or facility type, where the treatment, test or surgery does not require an inpatient overnight stay.

Healthcare Points of Interest

Healthcare points of interest enables you to understand competition and referral sources, as well as the potential landscape for acquisitions in the geography being studied.

  • Hospitals: Available by 12 unique types, including general acute and specialty hospital types

  • Healthcare Facilities: Includes 80 facility types, organized within five categories

  • Medical Providers: Available by 240 specialties, sub-specialties, and allied health providers in 40 categories

  • Dental Providers: Available by 7 unique provider types
