Comparison reports allow you to compare multiple study areas within one report. Start by adding up to five geographies to the study area. You can add multiple geographies at once by separating them with commas.

Outputs Available: CSV, PDF

The custom configurable demographic report gives you the flexibility to compare all geographies, combine them into a single report, or create separate reports for each geography.

Example Use Cases:

  • Compare all geographies in the study area in a single report.

  • Combine all geographies into one report.

  • Generate separate reports for each geography.

Adding Geographies to a Study Area

Start by creating a drive time or mile radius by right-clicking on your locations, then selecting 'Drive Time' or 'Ring.

Next, add your rings by separating the numbers with commas. For example, users can type '1, 3, 5' or any sequence to create concentric rings around a single area. Once complete, make sure to select 'Add to Study Area.'"

Note: Users can use other geography types beyond 'drive time' and 'radius rings,' including:

  • Block Groups

  • CBSAs

  • Census Regions

  • City Limits

  • Counties

  • DMAs

  • States

  • Zip Codes

Confirm the Geographies for the Report

To create the report, you must add the geographies by selecting them one at a time or using the 'Select All' button. Once done, click "Create Report."

After selecting "Create Report," the system will confirm that you have selected three or more geographies for batching. It will ask, 'Do you wish to continue?' Click 'Yes' to proceed with the report.

Next, you will then want to select demographic report.

You will be able to choose between compare, combine, or separate report type of report. If you select the compare report you now have the ability to rename and reorder the results column. Note: "Separate Report' is selected by default."

View and Download Report

SCOUT will load the Comparison Report with the default geographies and data points, and it will be available in the Reports list when ready. After opening the report, you can still customize it to your liking. You then have the option to download the report as a PDF or CSV file.
