The pushpin section contains the various locations that you or your team has created. Typical use cases include potential sites, custom competitive sets, available real estate, or any other point based item you'd like to store in the platform.

Pushpins represent individual point locations, such as addresses or landmarks, making them ideal for marking specific spots on a map.

By default you will only be able to view the pushpins you have added from your username. To view all pushpins throughout your company's users just click the collaborate to "ON" rather than "OFF".

*Note that in order to add more pushpin types/groups you must be an Admin User. if you do not see this button at the bottom and need it please contact your account manager. 

Add a new pushpin type by selecting "+ Add New Pushpin Type". You can add in your new type as well as add it to an existing group.

As an admin, you can also choose to restrict settings on the type to "admin only" from this menu.

Adding a Pushpin to an Existing Type Or Directly to the Map

Once you have a type to place your pushpin into, right-click anywhere on the map and choose the "add pushpin" option.

Now, fill out the form on the right hand side. The only required fields are the pushpin name and the pushpin type. Once these two fields are filled out, you can continue filling out any more fields you'd like and then click "add".

If you have multiple locations to add, consider using the MyData import feature to upload a spreadsheet and add multiple pushpins in one step.

Edit or Remove a pushpin type by selecting the "gear" icon on the map item.  You can edit the name and icon. You can also delete the type by selecting the option at the bottom left hand corner of the dialog box. This will effect all users in your company.

After you have created a Pushpin type, you are able to edit the icon to a custom icon of your choice. File types may be either a .jpeg or .png file, and recommended dimensions are 61 x 61 pixels, however if the icon you choose is larger it will be scaled down to fit.

To edit the Pushpin types icon, click the "gear" icon then 'Edit' from the menu. From the popup menu click on the 'Upload' button, then click '+ Add New Icon' and choose the file you would like to upload as the icon.

You may also add new groups, as an Admin user, to better organize your pushpins if you find you have a long list of types.

Your pushpin will be there next time you log into SCOUT, and can be viewed until you remove it. 

Additionally, saved pushpin types can be reused across maps by toggling them on, similar to using bookmarks.
