How to Use This Report:

Choose a geography through SCOUT or the Mobilytics module. Alternatively, draw a custom shape to define a study area and gather insights on household characteristics, volume, and visitor behavior.

  • Run the Mobilytics report as is, or expand each menu to edit the location name, date range, and times captured.

  • The time range is based on the user’s mobile device time zone. You can also restrict distances to include visitors beyond a set radius (e.g., over 10 miles away).

  • Study up to two locations or custom areas simultaneously. Add a location by searching nearby sites, comparing locations within the same brand, similar location types (based on NAICS code), or comparing the same area for different time periods.

  • To draw a custom shape, select the "Create Custom Location" icon above the map and start with a rectangle, circle, or any custom shape to define your study area.

Note: The report must cover a geography of less than one mile, with a minimum of 50 unique devices for privacy protection.

In our example below, we will compare two restaurants.

Contents:

Overview: The top of the report provides a summary of your inputs, including the report name, date range, and time range. You can edit the names of the shapes or report name from this section.

Watch a quick introduction video to the Mobilytics process, save data to SCOUT, share insights, or print a PDF.

Trade Area: The Visitor Map visualizes mobile devices on an interactive map, offering insights into home and work locations by density.

Toggle between "visits" (all mobile device captures) and "visitors" (unique devices) and adjust visualization types (heatmap or hexagon) and heatmap options.

The Visitor Trade Area section shows visitor distances from home to the analyzed area. Adjust the capture percentage to view trade area decay.

The Visit Origination section provides geographic insights on visitor origins by county, DMA, state, or ZIP code. Toggle based on your study's needs.

Household Characteristics: This section provides psychographic and demographic breakdowns of visitors. Core customer segments are classified as Primary (red) or Secondary (blue), with incidental visitors in grey.

Each segment is ranked from most affluent (A01) to least affluent (S71). View details to learn more about segment characteristics, index values, and percentages.

The Household Composition section displays variables on both "visits" and "visitors." Use the zoom tool to focus on individual graphs.

Volume: Analyze weekly, daily, hourly, and monthly visitor patterns, with interactive charts showing when visitors are present. These insights are available for both visits (including

repeat occurrences) and visitors (de-duplicated) where applicable. View relative volume trends for your study area compared to a benchmark geography. Interactive charts and graphs visualize when visitors enter the study area. Use the zoom magnifying glass on each graph to explore individual data points in detail.

The "Frequently Visited Places" section shows where visitors went before, during, or after their visit, with filtering options for specific categories.

  • Use the drop-downs to view places visited directly before coming to the study area(s), directly after, or at anytime during the time frame. Additionally, you may select specific categories or subcategories of locations to view.

The "Visitor Loyalty" Venn diagram highlights the percentage of unique and shared visitors between study areas and benchmark locations. (This section is only available with a benchmark geography.)

Mobilytics Visitors:

Once you save to SCOUT, the data appears in the Mobilytics Visitors section.

Use the "Actuals" tab to see specific visitor dots from studied devices.

Use the "Potentials" tab to view households matching the profile created.

View these reports on the map or delete them from the gear wheel next to the layer.

Mobilytics uses aggregated, deidentified mobile device data combined with consumer demographics and psychographics.
