Exporting Data

Export your organization's data from My Data in CSV or Excel format and select the specific records you want to include.

Written by Maddie Wolfe

Overview

The My Data feature allows you to view and export data available to your organization in SCOUT. You can export an entire available dataset or select specific rows when you only need a subset of the data.

Available export formats include CSV (.csv), Excel (.xls), and Excel (.xlsx).

Important: Some types of data cannot be exported directly from SCOUT. Territories and customer data have additional export restrictions. See Export Restrictions below for more information.

Export Data Using My Data

To export data from SCOUT:

  1. Open My Data and select the data type or layer you want to export.

  2. If you only want to export specific records, select the checkboxes next to the rows you want to include. If you do not need to filter the export to specific rows, you can continue with the complete available dataset.

Note: The Collaborate setting and column selections are not applied as export filters. Your export will include the selected rows and all available columns, regardless of which columns are currently displayed in My Data.

  3. Select Export in the upper-right corner.

  4. Choose the file format for your export. Depending on the applicable data type, available formats include:

    • CSV (.csv)

    • Excel (.xls)

    • Excel (.xlsx)

  5. Complete the export to save the file for use outside of SCOUT.

Export Restrictions

Some data available within SCOUT cannot be exported directly through My Data.

Territories

Territories cannot be exported directly from SCOUT. If you need an export of your territory data, contact SCOUT Support for assistance.

Customer Data

Customer data cannot be exported directly from SCOUT due to the sensitive nature of the information and applicable data privacy requirements.

If you need to export customer data, contact your Buxton account representative to discuss the options available for your account.
