To search within SCOUT simply click on the magnifying glass in the top right corner.

This tool allows you to search 5 categories: Internet, Files, Stores, Pushpins, and Territories. To kick off the search click on the Search button that will turn green once you begin to enter text. If you would like to set a default Search option please see this article on how to do so.

Allows you to search the web. Typical situations include searching for an address to quickly find a its specific location on the map. From there, select the icon to "fly to" that address. This can come in handy when you want to "fly to" a different area in the country, but don't want to scroll and pan. You can also search for local businesses based on your view-port. This is especially helpful when there may be numerous locations you are tying to find and save off as points of your own. 

It is important to remember that these internet search points are only temporary. Should you want to save any referenced search points, just add them as a pushpin by right-clicking on the search point and selecting "Add Pushpin". You can find more information on how to add pushpins here. 

Allows you to search any files that have been uploaded into your SCOUT and attached to sites. You can download the file or (if it is a PDF) you can view it directly in SCOUT. To learn more about loading files to SCOUT click here. 

Allows you to search your locations dataset. You can find any open or closed site using this functionality. This is commonly used to search location numbers. 

The search feature on your locations will prioritize by location number, then location name,  then address fields. This will ensure your location number or name shows up first in the list while searching. 

By selecting an option you will also only render the single location. This tool is also highly utilized for screenshots when you only want to share a few locations vs your entire network of locations. 

Allows you to search your pushpins types.

Note that you will only see pushpins in the search feature if you added them yourself. To view all pushpins that all users in your company have added you must first enable to collaborate feature from the pushpin menu. You can learn more about this feature with regards to pushpins here.

By selecting an option you will also only render the single pin. This tool is also highly utilized for screenshots when you only want to share a few pins vs your entire network of pins. 

Allows you to search your territory types.

Note that you will only see territories in the search feature if you added them yourself. To view all territories that all users in your company have added you must first enable to collaborate feature from the territory menu. You can learn more about this feature with regards to territories here.
