When running this report, the best practice is to create a specific, searchable title for the area being evaluated.

The Inpatient Demand by MDC and DRG cases report estimates the number of inpatient discharges by DRG and MDC. The output helps us understand the projected volume of inpatient utilization compared to the larger geographies around the area being evaluated. The index value is relative to the entire country, where 100 is average.
To read this report, we recommend reviewing the indices right to left. In the example below, the national index is 100 for DRG 470 while the state is 43, the county is 29 and the site is 13. For this site, the inpatient discharge index indicates demand is 87% lower than the national average.
This report includes outpatient discharge estimates for both Current Year and Five-Year projections.
