This Buxton template report estimates the number of outpatient procedures by medical specialty within the area being evaluated. The counts are based on patient origin, not where the procedure occurred.

How to Use This Buxton Template Report:

This report estimates where outpatient procedures originate by provider specialty, within the geography being analyzed. In conjunction with the Visits Demand by Physician Specialty report, it helps us understand what the demand is for each medical specialty as an input to real estate site selection decisions.

When running this report, the best practice is to create a specific, searchable title for the area being evaluated.

The Procedures Demand by Physician Specialty Report estimates the number of outpatient procedures based on the type of medical specialty that provides the service. The output helps us understand the projected volume of procedures, compared to the larger geographies around the area being evaluated. The index value is relative to the entire country, where 100 is average.

To read this report, we recommend reviewing the indices right to left. In the example below, the national index is 100 for Otolaryngology, with the state at 132, county at 126 and the site at 114. The index of 114 indicates the demand for Otolaryngology outpatient procedures is 14% higher than the national average.

This report includes outpatient procedures estimates for both Current Year and Five-Year projections.
